Funding the Bureau

In the year 2004-2005 it cost approximately £300,000 to run the Bureau.

Funding comes from many sources. The Bureau is grateful to the two local authorities, West Sussex County Council and Worthing Borough Council, who provide the bulk of this 'core funding'. They additionally support some of our specialist staff, particularly the Employment,  Benefits and Housing workers.

However the Council funding only covers basic running costs. Funds have to be attracted to meet the growing demand in numbers of clients and the complexity of problems, as well as developing services to meet increased demands from the community..

There is a need to :-

In addition, the present premises are cramped and unsuitable for CAB work and new accommodation is required urgently.

All this costs money.  We are actively seeking new sources of finance. Local businesses may feel it is in their interests, as well as their customers (who may well be our clients), to contribute to this important work in the community in which we all live.

We have been successful in attracting additional support and  funds from :-

We are also grateful to a number of local organisations and service clubs, such as Lions and Rotary Clubs for their support.

Businesses may find that such association with the Bureau enhances their reputation and emphasises their commitment to the community.

If your Company is interested, we can come along and show you how you can help this important work.
